The drive
From Tivat Airport the road climbs briefly and dives through the Vrmac tunnel, emerging with the Bay of Kotor spread out below — one of the best “welcome to Montenegro” views there is. From there it is a short run along the water to Kotor: around 20 minutes in total, with your driver waiting in arrivals holding a name sign and tracking your flight in case it is late.
Cruise-ship mornings can slow the last kilometre along the waterfront, but this remains the fastest airport-to-old-town hop in the country — you can realistically be inside the walls within half an hour of wheels-down.
Where your driver drops you in Kotor
Kotor Old Town. Cars can’t enter the walls. Tell us where you are staying and the driver picks the closest gate: the Sea Gate (Vrata od Mora) on the waterfront by the cruise terminal for most hotels and apartments, the River Gate at the northern end by the Škurda stream, or the Gurdić Gate to the south. From any of them you are a minute or two on foot from your door, and the driver helps with the bags.
Dobrota, Muo, Prčanj, Škaljari. The villages along the bay around Kotor are door to door at the same fixed price — just put the exact address in the booking.
Kotor cruise port. The terminal sits on the waterfront next to the Sea Gate. For a ship-day transfer to Tivat Airport, book Kotor to Tivat Airport and add the ship’s name and disembarkation time in the notes.
