The drive

The route runs south through the Sozina toll tunnel to the coast at Budva, then climbs over the ridge and descends into the Bay of Kotor, with the fjord-like bay and the walled town appearing below on the final bends. Around an hour and a half of genuinely scenic driving — and considerably easier than wrangling two buses with luggage. Fixed price, tolls included, driver waiting whenever you actually land.

As a guide, leave Kotor about three and a half hours before takeoff, and a little earlier on a cruise-ship morning when the shore road crawls. We still recommend leaving early: in summer the Sozina tunnel and the Budva bypass can get very crowded.
