A short drive is not the same as a safe one. The difference between these options is whether the car is already booked at the price you agreed, or still a decision you have to make with your suitcases in the street.
When to leave Budva for your flight
Thirty minutes of driving tempts people into leaving at the last moment, and Tivat Airport punishes that more often than it looks like it should. The honest rule for this route is two hours before departure: half an hour on the road, and the rest as the buffer that absorbs a slow climb out of town, a queue at the drop-off and a check-in desk that is busier than you hoped. We still recommend leaving early: in summer the Jaz hill road and the Budva bypass can get very crowded. Our drivers know the alternatives and will take another route when needed — at the same fixed price.
The pinch point is the Jaz hill — the road that lifts out of Budva past Jaz beach. On July and August mornings, and on changeover Saturdays when the whole coast is swapping apartments, it can crawl for fifteen minutes at a time. We set the pickup with that in mind rather than assuming an empty road, and if your driver sees the climb backing up before he sets off, he calls and brings the pickup forward a few minutes instead of hoping for the best — which is the practical difference between a booked taxi and one you look for in the street.
Where we pick you up in Budva
At your door. Hotel entrance, apartment building, villa gate — put the address or property name in the booking and your taxi is there at the agreed time, with the driver out and loading the luggage.
The Old Town is pedestrian, so nothing on wheels reaches an address inside the walls: your driver waits at the nearest access point, for most guests the entrance by the marina, a minute or two from the lanes. The drive to Tivat Airport
The road leaves Budva along the bay, climbs past Jaz with the whole Budva Riviera opening up behind you, and then runs flat and fast across the green Grbalj plain before dropping into Tivat. The terminal sits at the end of it, a couple of minutes from the main road — 22 km in total, normally about half an hour, and the €55 does not change whether the road is empty or full.

Tivat’s terminal is small, which cuts both ways: your driver stops directly at the departures door and you are inside in seconds, but at peak times several flights check in at once and the hall fills quickly. When check-in opens depends on your airline rather than the airport, so follow your ticket or airline app — and if you want to be there for the moment the desk opens, tell us and we will set the pickup to suit.

Send the exact address or property name with your booking and we confirm the price in writing before you pay. Pickups just outside central Budva are normally covered by the same €55; addresses further along the coast towards Sveti Stefan and Petrovac may be quoted from their own route.
How long does the drive from Budva to Tivat Airport take?
Around 30 minutes for the 22 km — up over the Jaz hill, across the Grbalj plain and straight to the terminal. In high season allow the traffic on that first climb to add ten minutes or so, which the pickup time already accounts for.
Do you need my flight number if I am flying out?
It is optional but useful. With the flight number your driver can see a schedule change before you do and adjust the pickup; without it we work purely from the pickup time you select when booking.
What if my departure is delayed or cancelled?
Your driver is local. If your flight is delayed by a few hours, they'll happily recommend where to spend the time nearby; if it's pushed to the next day, they'll suggest good accommodation close to the airport for the night — and a transfer back to the terminal is the same fixed price.
